Mediterranean Institute of Applied Science (Cyprus), Institute of Computing for Physics and Technology (Russia),
Institute for History of Science and Technology (Russia), Baltic International Academy (Latvia) invite you take part in the fourth international conference
MEDIAS-2012 on Informatics, which will be held from 7 to 14 May 2012 in Limassol (Cyprus).
In 2011 we celebrate 100 years since the birth of Alexei Lyapunov and 80 years since the birth of Andrei Ershov - outstanding Russian scientists whose work had
a tremendous influence on the formation and development of computer science not only in Russia, but in around the world. A very important point of their activities
was that they believed that the computer science was only branch of a more universal science - Informatics, which originated several thousand years ago with
the advent of writing and the first repository of documents that were necessary classify, store and split into the sections. It is therefore not surprising that their works
have not been concerned not only to problems of applied computer science, but and adjacent areas of Informatics - linguistics, modeling biological processes, human
development.
There is no doubt that over the past decades among all directions of science the most progress achieved in computer science and information technology. In the XXI
century computer went into every school, every office, every home. Today it is obvious that the computer is not only a challenge for the man from the machine.
The development of computer technology provides a fundamentally new possibilities for scientists and for artists giving them the opportunity to fruitfully combine
diametrically different styles of thinking: the exact knowledge of the logical and artistic perception of the world.
As in previous years the conference program covers a very wide range of topics that concerned not only applied on the establishment of computer online systems,
but also general issues of "humanitarian science" as the concept of cultural interpretation of two layers of civilisation: arts, on the one hand, and the so-called exact
Science and Technology, on the other.
As in previous years, the conference covers topics a very wide range of topics: from the development of computer applications systems, to general issues of human
